Dear fellow-workers for HOPE,

We hope that your work for the poor has been blessed by God this year. To share our experiences, we would like to host an European HOPE conference in Budapest! We would like to invite leaders who have been overseeing the Hope work / poor helping until now or people who really have Hope in their hearts and would like to move it forward. It could be people who would like to take part in the work in the future with some vision and ideas or just people who would like to (and perhaps currently not part of local Hope).

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

We are very excited to annouce this year’s Eastern European Missions Conference. We will spend a long weekend together from August 27 to 30 in the small town of Vajta at the beautiful Hungarian countryside. The theme of the Conference is: The Heart of Jesus. And we look forward to spending these days together with you talking about Jesus’ heart to seek and save what was lost. In 1993 the Boston church planted the first congregtion in this part of Europe and we who are disciples are very grateful for what God has done since then. But the mission is not yet accomplished. Jesus’ heart still beats with compassion and love for the 120 million people living in this part of the world. And we want to imitate his heart as we follow him. We have invited great speakers to help inspire all of us:

• Shawn and Lena Wooten have been part of the mission work in the former Soviet Union and for the last three years we’ve had the privilege to benefit from their help, support and leadership here in Eastern Europe.
• Randy McKean has led the mission effort for the envagelization of Europe for over a decade. Right now with is wife Kay they lead the Northern Virginia Church of Christ that is an inspiring exapmle of a church with the heart of Jesus.
• Kent and Heather McKean have been leading youth ministries in Savanah, Los Angeles and now in Northern Virginia. Kent of course is Randy’s son and was part of the Budapest church planting at the age of 11.

The conference will have great lessons, d-groups, prayer times, fun & sports events and lots of fellowship. Please, register as soon as possible and don’t hesitate to invite as many as would love to come. We also want to make the conference open for people outside of our regional area. It would be great to see people from all around the world.

In connection with this confernce we will have a European Singles Conference from August 25-27 at the same site. The theme of this will be Single Joy. We want to focus on the joy God provides for single disciples. Single joy means that you’re not married, but still can be joyful! But also it means that being with God is the one and only joy of our lives, as Jesus said: “rejoice that your names are written in heaven.”

We’ve tried to make great effords for the conference to be affordable. We want to see as many disciples come as possible since this is such a unique opportunity to be together and be inspired in a very special way. Please, let us know if we can help. We look forward to seeing you soon.
